Hi, I’m Katherine, the Editorial Director at JENNY BIRD. I’ve been working at honing the brand voice for the last two years. It’s been a satisfying, empowering place to infuse my love for the written word into meaningful, powerful copy that impacts all areas of the business while strengthening the relationship with the customer. This brand has seen tremendous growth in the past year and I’m looking for support from a copywriter to take all of our projects to the next level.

As the copywriter, you have the opportunity to work on our marketing team to develop smart, engaging, and on-brand copy. You’ll lean into the role as an experienced storyteller and creative thinker who is comfortable collaborating across the entire JENNY BIRD team. You have a track record of delivering cohesive, integrated campaign work that engages the audience while telling the JENNY BIRD brand story. This is not an entry-level position. This role is responsible for executing and maintaining the JENNY BIRD voice across all platforms and continuing the warm and carefully crafted verbal customer journey through various touchpoints. You will work closely with me, the E-Commerce and Creative teams to maintain and uphold the voice, tone and personality of the brand.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

● Work closely with the Editorial Director to write clear, compelling copy for key marketing channels such as email campaigns and flows, website, blog, App, SMS, social, wholesale and landing pages

● Developing content for our Amazon storefront including Brand Story and A+ content

● Writing all press releases and campaign briefs for US and Canadian PR contacts

● Support copy requirements required by other departments such as E-Commerce, Wholesale, Client Care, Creative Services and Marketing Team

● Support the Editorial Director building out larger projects on an ongoing basis - from brand books to pitching materials to lookbooks

● Use SEO strategies to boost our website’s search ranking

● Develop and manage updates for internal Brand Book and JB Welcome Book on a quarterly basis

● Conduct monthly audits of how the JENNY BIRD brand is represented across wholesale partner channels

● Conduct quarterly audits of the copy on our e-commerce website to ensure product descriptions, FAQs, About Us and other pages are kept up to date

● Build and manage customer profiles in tandem with Brand Marketing Manager

● Assist with external communications as required by Jenny REQUIREMENTS

● Bachelor’s degree or diploma in journalism, professional writing or a related field

● 3-4 years experience in an agency or in-house honing and executing a consistent brand voice for one or more clients/brands

● Strong command of the written word

● Excellent writing and editing skills

● Strong understanding of the creative process

● Experience creating written content to support an SEO strategy

● Fluent in English

● Demonstrates an intentional and consistent use of language in creative projects

● Highly organized with excellent attention to detail

● Ability to be both a self-starter and a team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills

● Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Location

● We have flexible working arrangements for the team. Currently, our team is working remotely 2-3 days a week and are required to be in the office the other days

● Our office is located at The East Room at 507 King Street East
